The Day Of The Beast
Log

It is the day of the beast. And it is the first day of the rest of my life...after University. Everything is done and I'm a BA (Hons) Arts Manager now. Feels weird after all the hard work, though also relieved. I haven't felt so good for ages. However, now the real work just starts. Moradi Hudson Management will be incorporated within a month. Went also to see the remake of "The Omen". A bit scary, but not really good.
Well...take care you all. It is the rest of your lifes as well.

Brand Innovation
Academic
I recently received a book "Brand Innovation" by the author John Grant. He did gave it to me personally and I am grateful for this gift as it has a lot to do with my year long research on to visual aspect of branding.
Grant believes brands are constructed from clusters of cultural ideas, literally everything that goes into a brand; all its symbols, history, artifacts and codes. He goes on to identify 32 types of cultural ideas and creates a periodic table for brand ideas. They are organized according to the cultural space they inhabit; from the personal to the official.
In relation to the arts though, branding has to be for a certain credible reasons. Do not be attach it, if it does not fit the cultural idea around the art. AS my central point goes: "people freely choose signs that signify the self". Therefore, in branding, what is needed is an insight into what is missing from your markets.

Everything Is By Chance
Philosophy
Merce Cunningham (choreographer)
John Cage (composer)
Cunningham has said: "there are no fixed points in space"
-> Everything is by chance
Cage has said: "music can be played without a single note" Even though there is a silence from the instrument we always hear sounds around us
-> Music is created by chance

Deranged
Log + Poem

The photo attached is from Hilton Helsinki. I spend a week up the North visiting friends and family. It was fun, cold and oh so silent.
"Deranged" below is from Tate Modern "Dictio Pii" piece me and Shara saw the other day. Amazing. Will influence my works in the future. Very much related to VJing, to an artform dealing with live mixing of visuals with music. It is exactly related for my research project and something I believe will be huge thing in the future.
---
We are the perfume in the air
only gaining power from isolated activity
we are the traitors of privacy
expressing abstract frozen irony
We are the utopian craftsmen
behaving like pretty beggars
we take from anyone
to give the product of
We are skeptical
but we believe
we are everything
but also nothing
We are immortal riders
interested only to send
we extend our bodies
interested only to bend
We are deranged
we are the outcast
wondering on to distance
burning in this mismatch

Revolve of Dream
Poem
I like to dream
I'm dreaming now
you are dreaming too
maybe we could dream together
I like to sleep
but tonight I can't
nothing will knock me out
it's this headache again, again
I learned to lust aftershock value
I learned to lust after evolution
and revolution - burn the believers
I feel no fear
These four bars illuminating obscenities
No cohesion - just rawness for sure
I need to get near the surface
to dig myself deeper
Like a flower
become a monster
Meet up my friend
the teen spirit - evolution
I'm dreaming again though
My heart just beating a bit faster

Three Roses
Poem
1st rose to wake the soul
to rise above the faceless crowd
2nd rose to lock up the memory
to give the kiss on the palm of the hand
3rd rose to reveal the riddle
to show the beauty of the mind
1st rose to wake the soul
to rise above the faceless crowd
2nd rose to lock up the memory
to give the kiss on the palm of the hand
3rd rose to reveal the riddle
to show the beauty of the mind

Stars Are Killers
Philosophy
It has been a month since a great revelation for myself (might one day publish it as well). I feel new. As I mentioned something was born inside, and I see the world in such a different way. All in a positive light.
I also saw a dream last night. I was in a house. The house suddenly turned into a hostage site when a masked man took it by storm. I attacked him fighting for my freedom, and was able to cut his leg with a knive (similar to the "Pet Semetary" film's end when the kid cut his granpa's at the end). This did not help so I turned on for a different tactic. I talked him and showed a friendly love. Turned out that was exactly what he was looking for in the house...hmm...
Finally a quote by Andrew Loog Oldham:

Finally a quote by Andrew Loog Oldham:
Stars must be killers, always striking first and fast. They have to be totally obsessed and paranoid about this year's vision of themselves that it's beyond obsession - it's reality, logical and natural. There is no remorse when they kill, no regrets when they pimp and no shame when they whore."

Yesterday / Today
Poem
Eyes, the mirror of soul
cryes, for me to be
that's what they say
that is the way
Expression, the moment of
the truth, crawls inside
killing me and twisting
my spine into a misfit
In my space, come inside
is a light of tomorrow
Open up and
you'll understand
Eyes, open up today
life, is no more gray
It is simple don't you know
now my feelings flow
Look into me
and you will see
that there is no lies
I say it with my eyes
After the light
is revealed to me
Now I found what I've
been searching for
Yesterday I died
Today I'm born again
Eyes, the mirror of soul
cryes, for me to be
that's what they say
that is the way
Expression, the moment of
the truth, crawls inside
killing me and twisting
my spine into a misfit
In my space, come inside
is a light of tomorrow
Open up and

Fragile Beauty
Poem
There is a beautiful mind
radiating the idea of rose
so fragile, so beautiful
easy to be blown away
The rose is so white,
soft like silk, pure like milk
The beauty is so fragile
red fury shall tear it apart
Wont the beauty of it all
stand proud and tall
cause even in mids of night
its darkest just before the dawn
But you know what I say,
that beautiful mind is what I shall gain
to open the pedals, pick up this rose
even thou its against all the odds
Roll down the window
smell the open air
drive me faster
hit it and freeze the fair
I'm a passenger of this girl
passing worlds, going around
literally, sexyally
in a whirlwind of time
There is a beautiful mind
radiating the idea of rose
so fragile, so beautiful
easy to be blown away
The rose is so white,
soft like silk, pure like milk
The beauty is so fragile
red fury shall tear it apart
Wont the beauty of it all
stand proud and tall

Dreamers
Poem
Take the first steps after the rain
at the dawn when small drops tickle your toes
How to know is it real or is it magic?
If this clock keeps ticking away
will time be hesitated
of all the minutes that were taken away?
Come closer, let me whisper it in your ear:
shine for the sun, let the drops fall
Until its time for a wake up call
Take the first steps after the rain
at the dawn when small drops tickle your toes
How to know is it real or is it magic?
If this clock keeps ticking away
will time be hesitated
of all the minutes that were taken away?
Come closer, let me whisper it in your ear:
shine for the sun, let the drops fall
Until its time for a wake up call

Relaxing In Finland
Log
After three weeks of non-stop work in Ministry of Sound (oh yeah, got a bar job on December) and EMEA, I came to chill it out in Finland. Though this slowness is killing my momentum and I don't like it at all. Otherwise, met up with Velcra and saw them live for the first time in my life, after resigning. It was good to see them, and we still bond.
All this has made me think about my future. I think it is in mixing of visual art and music. I also got an idea on my final year work. Research on how visual art could be used in the branding of music.
